Artist Statement

I was led by my personal situation and desire to create a design lighting for home. I couldn’t find what I needed when I realized that clay allows me to produce what I need with an exceptional freedom of creativity.
My creations begin with a simple geometrical shape —usually driven by an idea of a lamp I envision that feels right within a space. I will develop it then with contemporary elements. From the beginning of the process I see my object as a part of interior or exterior.
My works are often a dialogue of textures. My objective is that my works make people take pleasure of the material. A part of the process is to play with light. It is the light which can show the beauty of texture. I start thinking about illuminated parts of the object at the first stage when sketching. Lighting can radically alter our live spaces and can highlight good design.
I am asking constantly myself how to blend in a best way lighting and ceramics. My favorite part is to plan where the light is going to pass through to “paint” with light. I add glowing touches according to my idea and I would like the spectator to feel comfort by seeing it.
My goal is to create design objects that make a positive impact on the spaces. I believe that the objects we surround ourselves with should invite us to reflect and to feel. Ultimately, I aim to create work that contributes to the ever-evolving conversation between art, design, and craftsmanship.
